This end-of-mission press release (February 2025) presented the IMF staff team’s preliminary findings on the Maldives’ recent economic performance, outlook, and key public financial management (PFM) issues. These findings informed the preparation of a staff report.
The IMF Executive Board concluded the Article IV consultation with Maldives on March 26, 2025 with a discussion based on the staff report prepared after the IMF’s country mission. The Article IV report was not published after the IMF Executive Board met as the Maldives authorities needed more time to consider the publication of the staff report. The Maldives Article IV report has not been published to date.
